This glorious day is celebrated in United Kingdom in a way that brings immense pleasure to all. It commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This Easter 2019, Britishers are going to celebrate it on 21st March 2019. This event marks on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the astronomical first day of spring in Northern hemisphere.

Not only this – HOT CROSS BUNS – the most recognizable symbol of Easter is often eaten as a tradition Easter food on mothering Sunday and Good Friday in the UK. These are sweet Yeast dough buns filled with raisin or sultanas. This so tempting confection tastes even more delicious with butter coating on it.

Many people Celebrate this auspicious day by exchanging Easter-themed eggs; The people tsk their kids with ‘hunting’ variety of objects including eggs hidden around the house. Children believe that the Easter bunny, also called as Easter hare or the spring bunny, brings candy baskets and toys to their homes a night before Easter event.

Indoo Easter Egg Hunt

The bunny will either put the present baskets in some designated place or hide them somewhere in the house for the kids to hunt when they wake up on the Easter morning.

Easter Folk Dance Rituals

Morris Dancing is again one of the traditions being practiced on Easter in UK. This is the most unusual traditional English form of folk dancing, which involves number of men and women dressed up with white gowns folded with beautiful ribbons and bells symbolizing the arrival of spring.

This tradition also includes bonnets hats called Easter bonnets and holding hankies in their hands while performing their folk-dance rituals.

Besides, there are plenty of things that Britishers do over Easter. They often visit parks like the Hyde Park, Regent’s park, Richmond Park, Kensington Gardens, Victoria park and so on. Some of them also visit London ZOO. Many of the UK residents travel to the west ends to enjoy the plays and musical concerts at the Shaftesbury, Victoria Palace, or the Savoy theaters.
